I’ve been wrestling with the exact same issue in my work (I’m a “__X Designer working in data visualization) and began to use to the word “Audience”, but a friend pointed out the passive tense, so I’m essentially back to User again. “People” sounds creepy, “Collaborators” not entirely accurate.
